Description of available services:
Travellers are often amazed by the way that the building has been transformed into a hotel, restoring and reusing already existing elements.
The decoration, surprising because of its classicism and the high quality of its furniture and pieces of art, avoids the excess of country décor often used by country houses of the area.
Choosing a room is like choosing a dream. The Carlos III room, where the king stayed, is a mirror of those times. One can even travel to the Far East in the China room. El Palomar, in one of the two towers, reminds us of the cooing of lovebirds.
Imón, which has just 40 inhabitants, is located between Sigüenza and Atienza. There are still some salt mines from Roman times, which were then the most important in Spain. Today they have been classified as pre-industrial archaeology and are a mandatory visit for tourist and curious local people.
The dominant element of the village is the gorgeous 15th century Renaissance church. Above the village, the Llano de las Simas has a holm oak forest which offers travellers spectacular sunsets over the salt mines.
In the surrounding area there are churches, castles, palaces, museums, walls, and cathedrals: a tour through History from prehistory to the current day, including Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles.
Nature accompanies this man-made landscape, with beech trees and pine forests, deep canyons packed with birds, oceans of red Castilian sands honoured by poets. A traveller once wrote: “In the heart of Spain, a salt island, full of charm and offering the best treatment. Thanks”.
